Hi everyone --

Our beautiful daughter, Elayna Rubie Kellum, was born a week ago on 4/6/08 at 11:06 pm.  She's healthy at 7 lbs 11 oz and 19 inches and has completely won over both her mom and dad.  She's a very sweet and snuggly baby. 

I am well-overdue for the promised pictures.  We've also saved a ridiculous amount of photos to our shutterfly site:

Elayna Rubie Kellum arrives and is a beautiful, healthy baby....

7 lbs, 11 oz

19 inches long

We spent 2 nights in the hospital and it was a relaxing opportunity to get to know our new baby. Aaron stayed in the room with us and brought in food so we didn't have to suffer the hospital meals. The nurses and staff are great and its been a wonderful few days of baby-bliss.

Now time to introduce Elayna to her new home, dog, and cat and begin her new life together.

Almost there!

We're a week away from the baby's due date and she could arrive at any time! Yikes! Of course we're very excited and nervous and anxious to meet the little one.

We're also playing the 'guess when she'll arrive game'. April 4th was one of my prefered dates (so her birthday would be 4/4/08) and it's looking highly unlikely that she'll show up today. So we'll keep on waiting...

But at least Aaron and I are doing alright. Aaron finished his mid-terms for his MBA yesterday so that's a relief to be over with. I've been working from home and trying to wrap a lot up ... still a lot of strings but I'm feeling better about taking leave than I was. And aside from some hip pain, my body is still functioning. In about another week, I'll be ready to evict her though.
